It All Started With A Crazy Notion...

This story of adventure, begins with a crazy notion... Sell our house and travel through the greater part of the United States, see  the country we come from, learn of our roots, enjoy some special once-in-a-life-time moments with family and friends, and consider where we may like to plant our family. After all, did we want to be sitting in our rocking chairs on the front porch when we are too old to move and talk about the things we wished we would of done OR talk about the amazing life God allowed us to live, experiencing His creation and goodness first hand (this is a rhetorical question of coarse)!? After six years of construction management it seem about right for a year of rest and contemplation.

The journey begins, with a trip to LA where Kaaren's best friend from birth was getting married. What a joy to see such a close friend find a person to commit to stay with and love for life before God and Friends!  Venturing on from there was an opportunity to continue to Cabo San Lucas for some RnR. Fires consuming half the state of California were happening around the LA and lower California area so we enjoyed the Scandinavian town of Solvang.  A stop by Hearst Castle was well worth the drive.

Solvang is an enjoyable smaller touristy coast town that is quaint yet upbeat with various festivals throughout the year. A short stop down memory lane was seeing the lake where K's family and friends would go camping every summer. It is so nice to put a picture with all the wonderful memories she has told me.

From there we drove on to Santa Barbara for a marriage of another two beautiful lives. This one was a close friend of mine that I have had the joy to watch grow in my college days from hot to cold for the things of God. It brings me no greater joy than to watch ones I love walk in the light of God's truth of their own choosing!

Hey R, I have a feeling that K wrote this little tale. Maybe I am wrong, but just a hunch.

Lord Bless you guys in this awesome journey. Have fun, LIVE YOUR LIFE and all you do as unto the LORD.
