From there we went over a pass or two and tooled around Copper Mountain and Vail for a little bit. Lots of renovating and building. Great fun. But our favorite place so far is Estes Park. Nestled up into the Rockies looking down a broad valley. I did a hike to Gem Lake which was a gem indeed. Cute downtown, new, rustic looking old west feel. Had a great coffee at "Kind Coffee." Then we were off to Fort Collins to visit with some family.

Colorado Times
We drove out to Taylor Park Colorado via the Lakeview to Salt Lake to Grand Junction to Gunnison. What an amazing drive! There is a great place to to stay in Lakeview that has a geyser that blows every 15 minutes. The really good stuff on this trip from the cars perspective was when we traveled from Grand Junction to Taylor Park. Dozens of mountain peaks, painted rock walls, forever cascading rivers and creeks, alpine meadows, huge boulders, tons of biking and hiking trails, oh my!
We had an excellent time at our friends wedding up in an old mining town called Tin Cup (Elevation 10,500 ft). It took us a while to adjust to the altitude, so the square dancing was a little more strenuous then expected, but very fun. What a life living up there; no cell phone service, no electricity (some cabins do now), no phones, log homes (some with no foundation), big mountains, lots of wild life. It was so nice to stop for a while, celebrate 2 people who love each and were making a commitment to marry, as we were surrounded by such awesome beauty.
