Traveling On, To The Olympics?...

Learning, experiencing, living, enjoying, loving, and following our Lord. We have received a suggestion to update the blog more than once a month and we think that would be nice. July has been a wonderful month of watching my sister swim in the Olympic trials, traveling with close family, seeing lots of cool places in Colorado, coming back to our most favorite place in the world (Oregon), biking around Corvallis, relaxing in Roseburg, and currently heading back out to the Midwest and East Coast to complete some of the remaining things on our travel list we set out to do.

I tell you traveling is nice: seeing the world, God's creation, that there are many other people out there not much different then us, experiencing the cultural/regional differences, thinking about what it would be like to live here and why, and just experiencing the different situations we come upon. We have noticed that a whole lot of time goes into just taking care of our daily needs, eating, bathrooming, finding and making a place to sleep/rest, washing dishes/clothes, and just getting out and moving. Kind of amazing to see that having a place can make life a lot easier to accomplish certain goals in life. When we do settle, we will have a new found appreciation for a home and some consistency.

Traveling also brings about the question of what do I want to live for and accomplish in life, as we pass through places peeking into other peoples lives at the grocery store, coffee shop, parks, and on sidewalks. The age old question, "do I work to live or live to work?" If I may, I think I need to know who I am, my gifts, my talents, my passions, my beliefs and then my work follows. I am who I am, who God hand fashioned me to be and that determines what I do and how I do it. It is so exciting to grow closer to my Lord God and learn of His ways. Living life with a close relationship to God is definitely not dull or boring. Everything I do is like a teaching lesson he takes me through.

Well, we just sat down to get our next couple of days traveling plans down. Now that that is done, we must be off. We are going to spend a few days in Montana hiking and site seeing, visit some family and then stop by Williston, ND. There are some possible exciting jobs that may be available that we are going to look into. Then on to Chicago for some more education and hopefully out to the East Coast for a 3D Government class=). Carpe Diem!
